Finnish Grammar (by Kimberli Mäkäräinen) - a barebones online guide for novice Finnish speakers, including a basic vocabulary section.

Mimír: Icelandic Grammar Notebook (by John Tebbutt) - a hypertext-based tool which allows the user to search and reference Icelandic grammar, including hyperlink examples between sections.

Icelandic Online Dictionary and Readings - both a reference tool and practice reader for Icelandic, compiled by the University of Wisconsin for its Digital Collections.

Norwegian Grammar (Norwegian Teachers Association of North America) - a short guide to Norwegian word forms and word order.

Norwegian Language Resources (St. John's University, Minnesota) - an extensive set of links to all aspects of Norwegian language study.

Swedish Course (by Björn Engdahl) - a paced course for Swedish that includes audio files and (horrors!) a "final exam." The course has also been translated into Spanish, German, and Dutch.

Språkbankens konkordanser på Internet (University of Gothenburg, Sweden) - concordance database with string searching of many a literary, journalistic, and historical corpus of Swedish texts.

Project Runeberg (LYSATOR at Linköping University, Sweden) - the largest Nordic literature site on the web. Numerous literary texts online, as well as a great deal of information about Nordic literature.

Database of Nordic Neo-Latin Literature (University of Bergen, Norway) - a database of Neo-Latin printed books from or about the Nordic countries.

Scandinavian Studies Web: Newspapers and Other News Sources (WESS) - many newspapers have culture pages with literature sections.

Tijdschrift voor Skandinavistiek online - web-accessible version of this journal for Scandinavian language and literary studies.

Aurora Boreal - a website devoted to Scandinavian culture, with emphasis on literature and aimed at Spanish readers. Most information is in Spanish.
 

Danish Literature

BogGuide - from the Danish publishers' association, in Danish. Includes publisher links, bookstore search form, news from the book trade, and an online book cafe. The search form for bookstore street addresses allows you to search by bookstore name or search for bookstores in an area by street, town, or zip code. The news archive has a search engine as well.

Arkiv for dansk litteratur - a digital collection of classical Danish authors presented by the Royal Library as part of Denmark's Electronic Research Library.

Danish Author Profiles on the Internet (Kulturnet/Danish Literature Information Centre and several other sponsors) - the "first bilingual introduction to Danish authors on the Internet" currently features 19 Danish authors. In addition to brief biographical sketches, the profiles include articles, bibliographies, excerpts and translations, and contemporaneous reviews.

The Danish Literature Information Centre - an institution dedicated to promoting Danish literature, including works in translation.

Karl Adolph Gjellerup & Henrik Pontoppidan (Nobel e-Museum) - autobiographies, critical essays, and other resources for the Danish co-winners of the 1917 Nobel Prize for Literature.

Icelandic Literature
