Alexander of Tunis, Harold Rupert Leofric George Alexander, 1st Earl (1891-1969) Born, London, England. Alexander, a member of the Irish Guards, rose to the rank of lieutenant colonel and then battallion commander (1918) in France. During the Russian Interventions, Alexander led the Landwehr of the Latvian Army in 1919.
