Attention Book Lovers!
We are grateful to Jean M. Larsen, wife of the late A. Dean Larsen, for establishing the A. Dean Larsen
Book Collecting Conference endowment. Through her generosity, registration for the conference has been
reduced to $35.00.
About the conference
The A. Dean Larsen Book Collecting Conference will be on Thursday and Friday, March 27 and 28, 2008.
Each year the L. Tom Perry Special Collections at BYU opens it door to book collectors and book lovers of all stripes and interests. We encourage book dealers, librarians, and book lovers to attend this conference. We sincerely want to "open the vaults" to all who come so they may learn from qualified curators, handle the rarest of materials and thus experience a very real connection to the past.
- We are offering two separate Pre-Conference sessions for 2008.
- Coptic Binding Workshop (This workshop is now full)
- Discovery of Photography
The conference theme for this year highlights the A. Dean and Jean M. Larsen Yellowstone Collection. Appropriately, our keynote speaker is Susan Rugh, Associate Professor of History at BYU, who will speak on her research concerning "Vacationing in Yellowstone." Professor Rugh's address will be delivered during the luncheon (included as part of the registration fee).
- This year, our seminar topics are:
- Book Collecting 101 (This seminar is now full)
- Collecting Nephi: Book of Mormon editions, past and present (This seminar is now full)

We promise that we will not even mention the word "digital" during this time we are together to learn about and celebrate the BOOK. We invite all to attend.
