Learning Resource Center (LRC)
LRC Purpose
Main audio-visual center for the BYU campus
Professors will refer you here to listen to tape recordings, compact disks, or phonograph records.
Here you may use the television viewing system to watch videos, laserdiscs, or programs scheduled by instructors on the campus cable system.
CD's, records, and tapes are collected to support music and humanities courses and consist largely of classical and literature recordings, including speeches and lectures by prominent personalities.
The LRC also contains a large collection of Mormon Media, such as recordings of General Conferences, University Devotionals, and performances by LDS artists.
LRC Materials
Carrels contain TV sets and other equipment where you can see and hear media presentations.
There are several preview rooms that you can schedule for viewing or listening to LRC materials.
A computer lab is also available here in the LRC.
Use the Library Catalog on the Library Home Page to find most LRC materials.
Write the title and call number of the item you want to use on a request form and submit it at the service desk.
The assistant there will refer you to an appropriate carrel for listening or viewing.
Some materials in the LRC can be checked out for use outside the library, but most can be used only in this area.
