Information Commons

• There are several types of computers available in the Information Commons.
  • Some only allow you to access the Internet, the Library Home Page (which includes the BYU Library Catalog, electronic databases, research guides, group study room reservations, Route Y, e-mail and Blackboard.
  • Other computers are just like all the other computer lab computers where you can use word processing, spreadsheets, and presentational software.
• The Information Commons, though, has other specialized computers where you can come to collaborate with peers, consult with faculty, teaching assistants, or tutors.
• You can also use one of the 34 workstations with scanners and other multimedia software, three cameras for checkout, and two technology enhanced group study rooms which can be reserved online with all the other group study rooms.
