Artist's Statement

I’m illustrating the story of Sleepy Hollow told through the eyes of the Headless Horseman. He’s spent some time writing his biography because of his concern that people in response to the Washington Irving’s story viewed him as creepy apparition who was responsible for the death of Ichabod Crane…, which of course he was not. He’s a pretty nice guy, so that’s why I decided to illustrate his side of the story.
